Visually impaired people come first in everything we do. We are dedicated to improve the quality of life of our users and customers, and to enable them to live independent daily lives.

For us, quality of life is closely linked to personal freedom and independence. That’s why we help visually impaired people maintain or regain their freedom. To achieve this goal now and in the future, we focus on innovation and outstanding technology. We try to see the world through the eyes of our users and customers, and we pursue this aim with respect, courage and commitment.

KOBA Vision is dedicated to offer visually impaired and blind users unique user-friendly but well thought out products, matched by an outstanding service.

KOBA Vision has set up a code of conduct in order to spread KOBA Vision’s mission and position to suppliers. Suppliers need to understand the DNA of KOBA Vision and the social responsibility we take to build unique products for the visually impaired and blind.

The way how we care about our users and customers needs to be reflected in the way how we deal with our suppliers and how our suppliers deal with their employees. KOBA Vision seeks to do long-term business relationships with suppliers. Relationships are based on the principle of fair and honest dealings at all times. The relationship is open-minded and straight.

The ethical principles in this Code of Conduct are grounded in the basic principles of the ILO conventions and the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Corruption / Forced labour / Child labour

  • The labour standards are based on the convention of the international Labour Organization (ILO) and the Universal Declaration on human rights.
  • Our partners will not make use of any kind of corruption or bribery, direct or indirect.
  • Employment is freely chosen. There is no forced, bonded or involuntary prison labour.
  • All our partners respects the regulations of the United Nations on human rights and children’s rights.
  • There is no discrimination in hiring, compensation, access to training, promotion, termination or retirement based on race, caste, national origin, religion, age, disability, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, union membership or political affiliation. Suppliers or the supplier will treat each employee with dignity and respect.
  • No excessive working hours.

Social Responsibility

  • Our partners needs to meet at all relevant local and national environmental regulations.
  • Our partners guarantee protection of workers in the workplace and the workplace health protection within the scope of national provisions.

Compliance

  • KOBA Vision monitors compliance with our code of conduct and reserved the right to make visits to partners.
  • This code of conduct is a mandatory requirement for all suppliers who do business with KOBA Vision.
  • Our partners guarantee protection of workers in the workplace and the workplace health protection within the scope of national provisions.
